Popular day trip in The Highlands
North and West - A trip to the magical Isle of Skye is also possible within a day trip perhaps stopping off en-route at the iconic Eilean Donan Castle where you will learn that its enchanting setting belies a tumultuous past.
South and West - The stunning west coast of Scotland is also easily accessible and with its melange of dramatic cliffs, towering mountains, secluded beaches and picturesque villages it provides a breathtakingly different panorama around every bend in the road.
Driving south on the A82 passing through Fort Augustus and Spean Bridge (with the famous War Memorial) and onwards to Fort William. Take the “Road to the Isles” past the Glenfinnan Monument and the famous viaduct of Harry Potter fame and on to the Silver Sands of Morar and the fishing port of Mallaig or carry on south to Ballachulish and Glencoe and enjoy a round of golf at the Dragon’s Tooth Golf Course or perhaps a trip on the magical Segways whilst marvelling at the views of the Pap of Glencoe in the distance.
East - In contrast, to the east lies the rolling country and charming fishing villages of the Black Isle. From the quaint villages of Cromarty on the furthermost tip of the peninsula, a wildlife watching boat trip departs in search of the resident colony of dolphins, porpoise, seabirds and any manner of sea life which should choose to make an appearance including the minke whale at certain times of year.
