Outdoor activities

The Loch Ness area is a great place for activity holidays, with plenty of sporting activities to take part in - all set against a breathtaking backdrop of highland scenery. On the water you could spend relaxing day fishing for salmon, trout, sea-trout, char or pike - or try your hand at sailing or canoeing on the Loch.

Mountain Bikes are a wonderful way to explore the Great Glen Way, villages, forests and the Caledonian canal – don’t forget to take them with you or hire them when you get here.

Boots 'N' Paddles our outdoor activity partner can organise a wealth of outdoor activities which include open canoeing, archery, climbing, abseiling, hill walking, orienteering, mountain biking, gorge walking, canyoning and weaseling.

The Loch Ness area is a fantastic place for walking, and caters for all abilities from challenging hill walks and long distance hikes along the Great Glen way to well signposted and accessible walks suitable for the whole family. Glen Affric is a particular favourite of ours and is often described as one of the most beautiful Glens in Scotland so is well worth a visit.

Do let us know if you'd like any help in arranging any outdoor activities for your break at Loch Ness Lodge. There is nothing quite like taking part in some of these activities whilst marvelling at the stunning beauty of the landscapes around you here in the Highlands of Scotland.
